WOW-Worthy Paints for Unforgettable Art
Looking for something extra special? From some of the brightest glowing UV pigment on the market to paint that changes color in sun/shade/darkness, I have an arsenal of eye-catching materials.

High-quality canvases that look great with or without a frame.

Cotton Canvas - Crafted from 100% natural cotton duck, this gallery-wrapped splined canvas offers a clean, modern edge. "Splining" presses the canvas into a groove on the back, eliminating visible staples for a sleek, polished look.

Wood Canvas - Made with a smooth birch surface and a sturdy pine cradle, this option provides a sleek, solid foundation for your artwork.
The minimum size for wood canvases is 12" x 12", perfect for showcasing your pet with stunning detail.

Need to see it to imagine it?
Add a digital mockup!

For a small additional fee, I’ll create custom background designs and compositions for you to review, helping you visualize the final piece before it’s painted. You can select your favorite design—or mix and match elements from several options—to make sure it’s exactly what you want.

If you’d like, I can even create mockups of the painting in your home’s space—just send me a photo of where you plan to hang it, and I’ll show you how it’ll look in your space! This way, you can be completely sure of your choice before committing to the final artwork.

Here are some concepts and the final paintings:

The painting that started all...
a portrait of my dog Beatrix.

If you know her at all, you know this is her "throw the damn ball or else" stare.

She loves the river, rolling in the grass, and being outside. And fetch... mostly fetch. If the painting feels a bit intense, that's because she is!

After I painted Beatrix, friends started asking me if I would create custom portraits of their pets and the journey began.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you paint [fill in the blank animal]?
Yes! And if you're the first to request a new animal, you get a 10% discount!

How much does a pet portrait cost?
The starting price for an 8x8" custom pet portrait on canvas is $125.

Can I have more than one pet in the painting?
Yes, absolutely! The price will be customized based on the number of pets, so just fill out a commission request form to start the process.

Will I need to frame the painting?
No framing necessary! (But if you’d like to, that’s up to you.) All my portraits come with edge painting, so you can hang your artwork straight from the wall without a frame.

What is edge painting?
I paint the edges of the canvas to wrap the image around the sides, giving the painting a continuous, modern feel. This means you don’t need a frame unless you prefer one—just hang it up and enjoy!

What is a gallery-wrapped splined canvas?
A gallery-wrapped canvas means the artwork is wrapped around the edges of the wooden frame, with the canvas secured on the back. The “splining” process involves pressing the canvas into a groove and holding it with a rubber spline, which gives it a clean, staple-free look.

Where are you based?
I live in Colorado, near Denver. Studio visits are available on a limited basis.

Do you ship?
Yes, I ship both domestically and internationally! Shipping is calculated at cost and is billed separately from the painting price.

What kind of photo works best for a pet portrait?
The best photos capture your pet’s personality—think joyful smiles, cute poses, or playful expressions! Don’t have the perfect shot? No worries—I offer an image editing service for a small additional fee. Send me a few photos, and I’ll combine them to create the perfect reference image for your portrait.

I don’t have the perfect picture that captures their personality and a cute pose... Can you still work with me?
Absolutely! With a small additional fee, I can offer advanced image editing. Just send me clear, high-quality photos, and I’ll combine elements from multiple images—whether that’s getting the best facial expression from one and the perfect body position from another, or adjusting lighting to make everything shine.

What if I’m unhappy with the painting?
I’ve never had a client dissatisfied with their portrait! 🙂 I carefully replicate reference photos, paying special attention to capturing the eyes and expression. For added peace of mind, consider adding a digital mockup to help you visualize the final painting, especially if you'd like more creative input on the background.
